SUBLIMIC by TAKAHASHI HIROKO
Who is TAKAHASHI HIROKO?
Takahashi Hiroko is an artist exploring the infinite possibilities within finite forms through abstract expressions of circles and straight lines.
Holding a Doctorate in Fine Arts from Tokyo University of the Arts, where she is now a Professor, she redefines the kimono as an artistic medium connecting space, body, and thought.
Her works are housed in the Victoria and Albert Museum (London) and the National Gallery of Victoria (Melbourne).
Hiroko Takahashi’s work centers on a unique visual language composed solely of circles and lines. Within geometric constraints, she creates rhythms and spaces that move fluidly between tradition and modernity, individuality and society, abstraction and form. Her practice invites quiet reflection, revealing the beauty and possibility hidden within limitation—earning her recognition as one of Japan’s leading contemporary artists.
